II’s always great when special events happen in our backyard. Los Angeles SCORE (SCORE LA) will always promote these events. SCORE’s business is helping start-ups and small business to become successful. SCORE, a nonprofit, is a resource partner of the Small Business Administration (SBA) providing business newcomers with free ongoing mentoring, information and no-cost or low cost small business workshops. The Emerging Women In Tech + Networking free event is presented by Callab & Play and She Ventures in Tech at the Antaeus Theatre Company in Glendale starting on September 19. 2018 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. This event is part of Glendale Tech Week, a city-led initiative that runs September 15 through 20.
All female entrepreneurs in the making (including college & high school students are welcome) to attend the event and practice their two-three minute pitch in front of a panel of female founders, funders & entrepreneurs. Participants can engage with the expert panelists (including Katherine Hunter-Blyden, a SCORE LA mentor) to receive pitching and funding advice. The panelists and audience will select the best pitch and the winner will receive four free tickets to the Pitchfest, Keynote lunch and awards reception the following day. After the segmented events, everyone will merge into the reception area to network, discuss their startup ideas and empower each other through advice and mentoring – all this while enjoying apps, beverages and music,
“I’m very pleased to be part of this exciting event for women,” said Katherine Hunter-Blyden of Los Angeles SCORE. “It’s all part of what is happening during Glendale Tech Week which is put on by the City of Glendale with a theme of Let’s learn, build and CONNECT,” Hunter-Blyden commented.
