Yusef Muhammad is Chief Executive Officer of American Business Television Network. He oversees the company’s valuable portfolio of business and financial news, affiliate stations, and a significant production operation. Mr. Muhammad oversees the daily operations, including production, program planning, marketing, research, digital and communications. As part of his oversight, his objective is to grow viewership, strengthen the channels competitive positioning in the marketplace and grow its worldwide reputation and relevance among investors and entrepreneurs.
As Chapter Chairman and President of SCORE, Mr. Muhammad’s mission is to strengthen the technological competitiveness of small businesses across the country through coordination of the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs keeping small business on the cutting edge of next generation research and development. He also has worked to increase the use of small businesses to meet Federal research and development needs, to foster and encourage participation by minority and disadvantaged persons in technological innovation, and to commercialize results from the research.
Prior to joining SCORE, Mr. Muhammad serves as a Business Analyst at the American Institute of Corporate Development., a Business Accelerator and Business Advisory Firm. He is responsible for analyzing multinational private corporations and assisting in developing business growth strategies. He specializes in turnaround management, capacity building, communications, and commercialization.
Mr. Muhammad is also an Interise StreetWise ‘MBA’™ Professor, the impact through this initiative as reported by The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is a catalyst for expanding opportunities for under served communities. Since its inception in 2008, graduates have secured more than $3.16 billion in government contracts and accessed $300 million in new financing. They’ve also reported creating nearly 6,500 new full-time jobs. Sixty-two percent of surveyed participants reported an increase in revenue while 70 percent of those surveyed reported maintaining or creating new jobs in their communities. He is also a member of The U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA), Office of International Trade-Export Outreach Team, Greater Houston Partnership, International Trade Development Committee Member, and the Board of Directors of The U.S.-China Innovation Alliance (UCIA). Mr. Muhammad’s work with entrepreneurs, multi-national companies and government agencies has transformed organizational cultures, driven growth, built capacities and created jobs.
Mr. Muhammad was also named the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Minority Small Business Champion of the Year, received the Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition, and the SCORE 15 Years of Service Award.
